About Me
Welcome to the meanderings of my blog. Truth be told, I have ventured into a place I didn’t know existed just over a year ago. My family is still inclined to raise eyebrows at my new vocabulary now including words like website, blog, internet, facebook and others I have picked up along the way. It has been a most unusual journey to be sure.
Sitting at my computer is somewhat of a new experience. I have decidedly become what some people call an ‘email junky’ - finding myself listening for the little bell that tells me, ‘you’ve got mail’! After years of never daring to touch a computer, I now find it a fun way to stay in contact with my family and all that goes on around me. I have also become an internet coach - teaching folks how to set up their own internet business without it costing an arm and a leg!
Music has always been a huge part of my days - and I currently teach piano to 23 students of varying ages: from school-age children just old enough to read - to the daring moms and dads who have finally stepped up to their lifetime dream of learning to play the piano! It is a fun and fulfilling role - to watch the changes over time. I teach my students the love of music and rarely lose one!
Never one to be left out of something that sounds fun and interesting, I am an expert seamstress - stemming no doubt from having four girls of my own - all of them wanting the latest styles of clothes (they are their mother’s daughters after all!). So, to save the family budget, my sketch pad and tape measure often went to the store with us. During those busy school days, I spent hours designing and sewing the latest fashions that one was hard pressed to tell from the ‘real’ thing.
In my ‘spare’ time - if there is such a thing - I go to extremes in putting on formal teas and dinners. This is probably one of my big ‘loves’ in life. It’s a ton of work, but it’s also like playtime. It gives me a chance to unleash the creative side once again and also a chance to do something really special for others. I love to go the extra mile when it counts.
My kitchen - as you will soon learn - is the hub of my home. I come from a long line of incredible cooks - and I don’t mind saying that I am no exception. Making pies are my specialty and, according to my husband, the best is apple. I have finally put together a cook-book of all the family favorites - though it is not yet available for print.
Grandchildren (6 ½ of them!) are a delight and keep me on my toes. We have 3 nearly six years old and 3 nearly 4 years old and one on the way - just to make certain we didn’t get too used to the ‘no diapers’ thing. We finally found one toy to fit them all - an airplane - and they love it! Just when I had finally sold the last of the childhood clutter, we now are buying it all over again.
My interest in health and wellness was a journey I did not ask for - but, it found me out of need. Health has a way of dictating which direction you take in life - and I am never one to stand down from a challenge. I guess it’s in my blood! We learned so very much on that journey. It will take a lifetime to write it all down. But here’s the important part. Our bodies were created to function normally - including the ability to heal themselves of hurts and ailments along the way. Sometimes that just doesn’t happen right - as we found out. It’s an amazing journey and I hope to share much of it with you.
Though I am a quiet person by nature, I do tend to have opinions on many different things. Life has thrown me feet first - (or sometimes head first?) - into many of the experiences that make me who I am today. I invite you to join me in my journey and welcome your questions and comments as you see fit.

Hi Wendy,
I love the creativity of your blog–not to mention yourself. I can hardly wait to see how you continue to evolve.
All the best.
Claire
